The son of an inventor and toy designer, I’m obsessed with how to translate radical ideas into cultural acceptance. Often working on quarterly business reviews, investor pitches, product roadmaps, town-halls, and other moments when your story is up for grabs. Globally-recognized pioneer on storytelling for disruptive innovation. On faculty/instructor for InVision, General Assembly, NASDAQ, Cooper Design, and Kauffman Fellows. Also lecturer at top 20 business schools in the U.S., Canada, and Australia. My work has been featured in Fast Company, TIME, and Inc Magazine.
Trained as a cultural anthropologist. Michael began his career as a social entrepreneur – working on poverty, race, and the Digital Divide. Co-founder of Cityskills, funded by Rockefeller and Ford Foundations, and incubated by New Profit Inc. A start-up failure by the age of 24. A student of the wisdom traditions. A practitioner and teacher for the Center for Spiritual Embodiment. Raised in Switzerland and Los Angeles. Spent 20+ years in SF, NYC, Boston, DC. From 2015-2016, Michael lived out of two carry-on bags, nomad for 500 days, working around the world.
