Interview: David Siteman Garland on Content Creation 12.7.10

Today my friend David Siteman Garland took the interwebs by storm, with a 50-stop new media tour in one day. Dude, this guy knows EVERYONE!?

His book “Smarter, Faster, Cheaper” officially released, today along with 230 pages of non-boring, fluff-free strategies for marketing and promoting your work. If you are looking to build a personal brand, create content, and become a trusted resource in your niche or specialty, David is quite the Inspired Guide.

David and I met online, after we both presented at the Influencer Project 60 in 60 marketing conference. I was so inspired by David’s story — going from 0 to a 100,000 member community in two years — that I asked David to speak at our recent Reinvention Summit. Not only did he show up, he brought the expansive presence of Alexis Martin Neely with him – and we took part in a heartfelt discussion about where personal storytelling intersects with purpose, promotion, and making a living online.

So with this in mind, here is a follow-up 30-minute video interview I did with David last week, all about his new book and why you should pick it up TODAY.

One of David’s secrets to success is doing over 200+ interviews of thought leaders over the past two years: folks like Seth Godin, Tim Ferriss, Chris Brogan, and Patti Stanger (CEO, The Millionaire Matchmaker – one of my TV guilty pleasures). David’s approach allows him to reach out and talk to just about anyone he wants to. I love it! Lets just say, David has more than inspired me with the evolving directions here at Get Storied.

(If you haven’t noticed, sometime in the past six months, I’ve somehow gained entry into the world of social media and internet marketing “cool kids”. While I still sometimes feel like a poser crashing the party…I’m happy to be in the mix, advocating the role of story. Humble salutations aside, I’m also grateful to be learning from so many inspired, successful, and authentic voices who are succeeding in their niches online. So much to learn, so little time!)

If that isn’t enough to intrigue you, David has a pile full of bonuses, thought they’re limited time only (through Thursday or Friday).

Overview of some of the bonuses going on Tuesday-Thursday (possibly extended to Friday this week). Don’t miss out.  Instructions are on and on how to redeem ’em. Bonuses for anyone who buys 1, 3, 25, or 1,000 books.
